Crooked beaks on Cockatiels

The Cockatiels beak is vital for it's survival, think of it like your hand, they use it to pic up things, climbing, defense, preening and of course eating.

A crooked beak is when the upper part of the beak is out of line with the bottom.

An Avian vet may trim the beak and reshaping the top and the bottom parts of the beak.

Sometimes the bird may break his beak on the wire or something in it's cage, if this happens phone your Avian vet immediately.

Some signs of a healthy beak:

  • All smooth

  • All in line and not crooked

  • No peeling

  • No discoloured parts

  • Proper beak length
