Some Top Tips.

Here are some top tips:

• Do not give cockatiels too much sunflower seeds as it makes them fat, just give them no more that what is in their seed mix (cockatiel seed mix).

• During the breeding season give your pairs egg food as it helps them with feeding the chicks and the developing of the egg. (its best to give it too them all year round)

• If you have Cockatiels in the home its is best too make sure that you have all windows and doors shut before you let the bird out of the cage (even if you think it can't fly, but you don't know it could).

• If you have the Cockatiels in the home make sure you exercise them daily by letting them fly or walk around the room.

• When you let a bird out of the cage don't just let them fly out on their own accord just put your hand in and let it step on it and then take it out into the room.

• If you have Cockatiels in an Avery and the Cockatiels are tame it is properly best to make sure the Avery is totally fox proof (e.g. having double mesh) as tame cockatiels tend to be a bit more curious.
